I’m not sure what’s happened in the last 10 days, but life has all of a sudden gone a little haywire. I had an amazing weekend two weeks ago full of friends, my family and all sorts of yummy food. Then it all went to crap.
My daughter got the stomach flu. I won’t go into details but it was horrid. I was proud of myself because I get severe anxiety when someone vomits, so dealing with it for an entire day without losing my mind was a huge accomplishment. Needless to say, I didn’t get anything done for the two days she was home with me. Then I got a migraine, which shot the end of the week.
I was tired and cranky…and on a writing deadline.
Then on Saturday, my sister made the announcement that my 91 year old grandmother was ready to make the move down to Raleigh. This is HUGE, people. She’s been in an independent living facility outside DC for many years. We wanted her here, but she wasn’t ready. So now we’re diving into all the local communities and trying to find the perfect fit within the right time-frame. This is a VERY WELCOME change, but it’s going to take a lot of time and work. Anyway, my mom, sister and I met on Saturday afternoon to discuss strategy and game plan and then I hit up Barnes & Noble to work on my deadline.
I’m also trying to get my KEEP business up and running, plus write regular blog posts here and maybe try to find steady, part-time work. Oh and take care of my children.
It’s a season. It’s going to be chaotic but I’m going to embrace it. Some things will fall by the wayside and that’s going to have to be okay. Not everything is going to get done.
I’m taking deep breaths, pulling on my big girl panties and gearing up to work. Come on universe, show me what you’ve got.
