Weekly Appreciations

June 22, 2010 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

My husband is out playing poker and the house is quiet, so I thought it was a good time to write my weekly appreciations list.

1) I am so thankful that I have a “handy” husband.  Our washer stopped working two days ago and he figured out what was wrong.  Now tonight after spending a whopping $10 to fix it, I can now do my laundry and pack for Evo 10.  Huge sigh of relief.

2) I have the best friends and family – both IRL and on-line. Posting yesterday required a deep breath and a little guts to press the publish button.  I’ve received some amazing comments, emails and tweets regarding what I wrote and I thank you all for your support.

3) Air conditioning is the jam.  I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m melting over here in Raleigh.  It’s flat out nasty outside and as luck would have it, our upstairs unit stopped cranking out cold air.  The air conditioning peeps are coming out to fix it tomorrow.  It’s a pain and it can be pricey, but man, can’t live without it. I’m so grateful it’s an easy fix.

4) Where would we be without music?  Every night this week, I’ve been singing EXTRA to the Bug during bath time and bed time.  I’m so pumped that he’s starting to respond and tries to mimic me.  The day he can sing a scale, I think my heart will burst with pride.  I so desperately want him to love music the way I do.

5) I’ll end on a funny one — Bread.  Yes, bread.  I’m a carb loving, bread addict and no matter how much weight I gain in my lifetime, I’ll never say no to the bread basket.  My MIL had the most amazing scones at her house on Saturday and I’m pretty sure if no one had been watching I would have eaten them all single handedly.
