This post really isn’t about the baby at all…or the pregnancy…or my job.
I was in NYC for the past few days (a post about my airport experiences is due, but that’s a way longer story and for another day). Yesterday, I met one of my ad reps for lunch at the Blue Fin at the W on Broadway. (YUMMY YUMMY FOOD by the way)
So I open the door to walk into the restaurant and the door slides (ok, scrapes is a better word) across my left big toe. (*@$()@*$) OMG, talk about painful. But I didn’t want to cause a scene so I hobble over to the host stand and ask for my party. As he’s trying to figure out where I need to go, I look down and…….see my foot COVERED in blood. Awesome. I really want to bleed all over this nice, trendy restaurant.
I hobble over to my table, drop off my bag and politely excuse myself to the restroom. Well, there’s only one…ONE RESTROOM…and it’s locked. So I’m standing near the kitchen, asking the servers if they could PLEASE bring me a wet cloth or something so I don’t leave a trail of blood behind me. They all kind of looked at me like I was crazy….but then the manager (or who I guess was the manager) came and went to get me band-aids and alcohol swabs.
Then the door opens and this woman comes walking out, but stops when she sees my foot. She takes me into the bathroom and stays with me for 10 MINUTES to help me clean up the mess that I have created. She cleaned my shoe, she “macgyverd” my toe to stop the bleeding…….(oh no, a band-aid was not going to help this situation). She was a SAINT…a saint I tell you. THANK YOU DEVIN FROM CALIFORNIA. It would have been a ruckus without you. (Picture me trying to bend over to clean my toe with this preggo belly. Not a pretty picture I tell you.)
And now, I have a mangled toe……but at least I know there are still some really good people in the world.
lol That totally sounds like something that would happen to me! (p.s. you can plan on me rubbing your belly tomorrow, by the way!)
AWESOME!!!! That was so nice!
