And moms around the world rejoiced!
Preschool starts next week. It seems like it’s been 100 years since my little miss was in school. With Labor Day being late this year, it’s put a hurting on both of us. She’s done with me and I’m done with playing Camp Director.
Don’t get me wrong. We had a great summer but it’s time for routine and normalcy. So we’re counting down and getting ready.
How do we do that you ask? Just a few simple “prepping for preschool” steps.
Yup labels! Anyone with a child in school knows that everything needs to be labeled. Lunch boxes, book bags, change of clothes etc. Our favorites are Mabel’s Labels. Their durable, water-proof labels are perfect on everything! The Back-to-School Combo Pack features:
- 40 Mini Custom Name Stickers: 38mm x 8mm (1-1/2″ x 5/16″)
- 50 Tag Mates™ Stick On Clothing Labels: 21mm x 10mm (13/16″ x 3/8″)
- 16 Custom Shoe Stickers: 33mm (1.3″)
- 2 Personalized Mini Tags: 30mm x 20mm (1-1/4″ x 3/4″)
You can also buy their Write Away! labels, which allow you to write whatever you want on them.
2) Lunch and snack prep
This means gathering goodies like Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies (with 100% real cheese, organic wheat, and absolutely no artificial flavors, synthetic colors or synthetic preservatives), GoGo Squeeze, Plum Organics snacks, cheese sticks and more. We also buy these reusable sandwich bags from Lunchskins
3) Back to School Clothes
Bless Miss E’s heart, we struggle with clothes. All she wants to wear are dresses (ALL. THE. TIME.) and that doesn’t always lend itself well to paint, markers and dirt. So I try to buy “play” dresses. Luckily, Old Navy and Carter’s have a pretty good selection to cotton dresses that are perfect for being fancy and playing. She also can be persuaded to wear a skirt and cute top on occasion. Whew!
Now we just need to make sure she gets to bed at a decent hour and has a nice, healthy breakfast before she heads out the door. Look out world, this four-year-old is ready for her last year of preschool!
