My Smutty Summer Reading List

July 30, 2013 By Erin L. 4 Comments

My smutty summer reading list

I’ve read eight books this summer. Of those books, one was a parenting book and most of the others were smut – pure, sexy, entertaining smut.

I had grand plans to read other books, but for whatever reason, it’s not what ended up in my Nook library.
I started with Entwined With You, which is the third novel in the Sylvia Day Crossfire series. While I have loved the series, this book was not my favorite.  I’m a huge Eva and Gideon fan (the main characters), but found myself a tad annoyed that this was not the conclusion of the series. I think Day is dragging this one out a bit too long.

I then read two Christina Lauren books, Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Stranger! A huge thank you to my friend, Heather, for recommending both books, which are sure to have you needing a cold shower. They are easy reads (I read both in 48 hours) and both feature a racy plot line that had me turning pages as fast as I could. Next up is the continuation of Beautiful Bastard entitled Beautiful Bitch and then Beautiful Bombshell.

Then I switched over to the first book in the S. C. Stephens, Thoughtless series.  It’s the story of a girl who follows her boyfriend across country, only to fall in love with his friend and roommate.  While I enjoyed the story line (this is less smutty, but still has some sexy scenes) it didn’t quite grab me as much I would have liked.   So the second book, Effortless, has gone unread.

Instead I downloaded two Joya Ryan books, Break Me Slowly and Possess Me Slowly.  They were $2.99 on my Nook (Only .99 if you own a Kindle) so that definitely piqued my interest.  I wanted an easy read and a good story.  I got both.  If you like a hot love story, you will not be disappointed.  I like that Ryan writes a book about all her character, so you can get to know each of them better, but I do think each book could have been it’s own series.  Ah well, it’s $3.  I can deal.

Now I plan to switch directions and read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I’m a sucker for Young Adult fiction and am anxiously awaiting the third book in the Veronica Roth Divergent series, Allegiant, to come out in October. I also need to reread Catching Fire to prepare for the movie.

What are you reading these days? Got any book recommendations for me? I’m all ears.

I really do enjoy reading Sylvia Day! And many others. Summertime is my down time to just read. I like the Torn Series, The breathing series. My Kindle is full of great reads.

I’m annoyed because Amazon bought the Breathing series so I can’t download it on my Nook.

I still have a note on my iPhone that says “Erin says to download Beautiful Bastard.” I haven’t done it yet, but it’s there! Reminding me every time I check my notes!

Those sound great, summer is the perfect time for racy books. I have been reading sorta serious stuff, just finished The Devil in the White City, nonfiction about the World Fair in Chicago in late 1800’s and the charming physician turned serial killer who used the fair to lure his victims. I bought The Fault in Our Stars just last week and can’t wait to read it
