Hi friends, family and fans,
After a long week, I finally have a moment where I can sit at the computer. I have a cup of coffee and Aidan has just gone down for a morning nap.
Life is a tad crazy in the Lane household. J and I are both incredibly busy with work. I am constantly amazed at how fast time goes by. It seems we just start the week and then it’s all of a sudden Friday. We owe some big props to G-Ma who babysat for us last night. We were able to go out to dinner with friends which was awesome. Between work and a wee one, I feel really disconnected from all my friends, so it was good to finally catch up with a few last night.
This afternoon, J and I are going for massages. I had a gift certificate and since he’s been working SO hard, I decided to be nice and book him an appt too. 🙂 He loves me! G-Ma is rockin’ it again since she lives just a mile from Massage Envy. We don’t want to take advantage of her, but I think she would come see him every day if she could. I don’t blame her of course. He is pretty cute.
Speaking of the WonderBug, he’ll be 15 weeks on Monday. 15 WEEKS! How is THAT possible? Sometimes I feel like it was just yesterday that I was waddling around wondering when he was going to make an appearance? And then there are days that I can’t even remember being pregnant. I guess it’s the lack of sleep, makes you forget stuff.
Day care is going GREAT! His teachers love him, which makes me feel awesome. I know that they’ll make sure he’s well taken care of. There are lots of cute little kids there and I know he’ll be happy and make a lot of friends as he grows up. Funny story – do you know what they did in the last week? FINGER PAINTED! Totally hilarious. He’s not even 6 months old and they finger painted. He apparently loved sticking his hands and feet in the paint but was NOT a big fan of being washed off afterward.
I am getting a little nervous as I have to go to Los Angeles at the end of the month for 4 days. I can’t believe I have to leave him. There is a small part of me that is excited about a full nights sleep, but the rest is sort of dreading it. I’m still nursing, so I’m not sure how that all is going work. The idea of pumping in an airport restroom is so not appealing. I need to do some research too to see how I’m going to get back some of the milk for Aidan. Pitching it is NOT an option. Someone suggested FedExing it back to Raleigh in dry ice, but I’m taking a red-eye home on a Sunday. Oh well, I have a few weeks to figure it out. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Hugs and love to all.
P.S. We love the posted pic here. How grown up does he look? It’s like he’s saying “Yeah, I’m watching TV. What?”

he is so freaking adorable in that picture!!!
There are some great suggestions on traveling & pumping on the iVillage message board for exclusively pumping. (http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-ppexcluspump) Those women are pumping champs and have some awesome tips! Many airports have a nursing room/family room. It can be done!
