Oh the joys of getting bigger…

June 19, 2008 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

So today I’m getting dressed and I decide to wear this cute shirt that is totally trendy, but also has a drop waist so I don’t look like a cow in it. I know I need to wear a pair of black pants. Hmmmm, this could be a problem. All my black work pants have the hooks on them instead of buttons, so I can’t do the rubber band trick and for the life of me, I can’t find that black belly band I bought at “Pea in a Pod”. So I find one pair that I think will fit, zip them up, decide not to button, but instead just hook the belt part.

I get in my car – ok, not so comfy. Get to work and start my day. HELLO! Can we say OOOOMMMPH!!!??? I am currently sitting at my desk feeling grateful that my shirt is long enough to cover my waist, as I have not only unbuttoned, but unzipped and unbelted (yes, I made up a word) my pants. Awesome. I do not feel like I am completely ready for maternity pants at 15 weeks, but I think I have to make the plunge. I have one pair of elastic waisted pants from Old Navy that look like yoga pants. They are super comfy, but I don’t want to look like I’m wearing pajamas to work either. Anyone have any good in between suggestions other than the ones I mentioned above? Or do I just need to suck it up and try on all the pants that the fabulous Jennifer brought me the other night? Be honest, I can take it.

I hated taking the plunge but you will be so glad you did!! I mean I had no problem wearing maternity pants once I started. They are SOOOOOO comfy. Nobody even has to know they’re maternity. I got my most comfy ones at Kohl’s. We can do a roadtrip to Motherhood Outlet in Smithfield if you’re up for it. Good Luck!!

My absolute favorite maternity pants were the first pair I bought when I was pregnant with Caleb. They came from Motherhood Maternity and were just basic black semi-dressy pants. They were just about as magical as pants can get because they were the first pair of maternity pants I’d reach for each time I’d need them and the only pair that would still fit the day I had my babies! May you be lucky enough to find such a pair! You’re going to be the cutest pregnant lady!
