A little local pampering (Spa Week is Oct 14-20)

October 2, 2013 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

Being pampered is one of my favorite ways to reward myself. Pedicure, massage, facial, I’m really not that picky.
So when I was offered the chance to visit Serenity Skin Care in Morrisville as part of a Spa Week review, I gleefully accepted.

I arrived for my 60 minute organic facial (complete with lymphatic, scalp and hand massage) in deep need for a little relaxation. I’d spent the night before sleeping on the floor of my daughter’s room. Fun times. I walked into the treatment room and was greeted with a pleasant aroma and the sounds of Enya. Oh yes, I was going to enjoy this.

My aesthetician started with a brief massage on my decolletage and then put a De La Terre Skincare mask on me. She used a tea to cleanse my skin in between masks. After my scalp massage, she put another mask on me; this time with lots of antioxidants. All of her products are organic, which I thought was really cool. Plus, several of them are based in North Carolina!

I left feeling refreshed, albeit ready for a nap. And while I’m not really keen on going without make-up, I think it’s important to let our skin breathe every once again and get a break from all that we put on it. So this might be the lone time I publish a photo of me with absolutely NOTHING on my face.

If you haven’t ever had a facial or if it’s been over a year since your last one, I encourage you to go out and get one.  As parents, we often neglect ourselves, putting our family’s needs in front of our own.  Do something for yourself and relax a bit!

The fall Spa Week event is October 14-20. To book your $50 treatment at a spa local to you, visit http://www.spaweek.com/learn-more/.

I received a complimentary spa treatment in exchange for this Spa Week post.  No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
