Let’s celebrate National Cereal Day

March 7, 2013 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

pantry cerealOh cereal, how I love thee.

For breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes dessert.

An occasion to celebrate you?  Don’t ask me twice.

My husband will tell you I need an intervention.

To that I give him a big “W” – whatevs. (Just because I wrote a poem about it…geesh. Oh wait, it’s also in my bio.)

Our house is NEVER without cereal.  We currently have six boxes PLUS two plastic containers full.

The kids eat Honey Nut Cheerios like they are going to be discontinued tomorrow.

My favorite late night snack is Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

My morning preference toggles between Frosted Mini Wheats and Quaker Oatmeal Squares.  The hubby loves Raisin Bran and Honey Bunches and Oats.

I have fond memories of eating Cocoa Krispies at my grandmothers and Crunch Berries at the beach with my BFF.

Mmmm, cereal.  Makes me so happy.

Tell me your favorite.

Hot – oatmeal with brown sugar & walnuts. Cold – Oatmeal Raisin Crunch or Whole Grain Cheerios. I like crunch in my cold cereal. When I was a kid, I loved Frosted Flakes and Raisin Bran.

In my old age I have grown to accept generic cereals. GASP!

I know, I’m just trying to find a discount. ;> I love the frosted mini wheats, and Quaker Cinnamon or Brown Sugar puffs or whatever they are called are yum!
