Where’s My Gold Star: When Mama Is Sick

January 22, 2013 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

dressed and fed

We all know that mamas don’t get sick days.  We pop pain killers or cold medicine and drudge through the day in a foggy haze.  There’s no rest for the weary.

But what happens when both parents are sick?

Saturday morning my husband and I both woke up and thought “uh oh.”  Nothing major, just that feeling that something was looming.  We trudged through the day and were in bed at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday was pretty heinous.  We were tired and cranky, which made for a super swell time.  Luckily, my MIL came over for a little bit and took the kids to play outside. Hallelujah!

Monday wasn’t much better. Hubby went to work for a few hours and I entertained the kids to the best that I could. It wasn’t great.

There were no crafts. The kids watched more TV that normal; they played games on our phones more than I would prefer.  But they were dressed.  They were fed.
