Last night I was trying to make dinner with two children under foot. It’s a situation that most parents are all too familiar with. After telling them to please go play in the OTHER room a hundred times, I finally just started pulling things out of a cabinet for them to play with.
I ended up with this:
Fun times right? It definitely made me thankful for all makers of wine and liquor. Then I remembered this adorable little recipe book I got this summer called Mommy Mixology. Boasting a cocktail for every calamity, author Janet Frongillo (of the blog Muffin Top Mommy) ensures that moms have a drink for all occasions.
Her table of contents is divided by age range – from conception to Kindergarten and offers drinks like the Emergentini and Son of a Beach. My favorite name is the Mouthy Muchacho in the Preschool section. The attitude that can emanate from an almost four year old is amazing!
Want a little bit of yum in your day? Try the Big Flop Cupcake. It’s named in honor of all of us moms who want to play Martha Stewart but really should just stick with the Duncan Hines cake mix. And bonus, it’s a drink and dessert in one.
For one serving, blend 2 oz Kahlua, 2 scoops vanilla ice cream and 3 OREOS.
Hellz to the yeah!
And you’re welcome.
So if you are looking for a gift, Mommy Mixology is a super cute book that would make a great baby shower gift or really any kind of gift for anyone with young kids. I can’t wait for her to do a version for pre-teens and teens.
I was sent a copy of Mommy Mixology for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own and were not written under the influence.
