My darling E,
Where has this year gone? It seems like just yesterday the doctor came in to tell me we were going to be prepped for surgery.
And there you were, in my arms, as if you’d always been there.
You’ve been a joy to have in our family. Your demeanor is perfection. I love to watch you giggle and get excited over the smallest things. My heart melts at your happiness.
You adore your older brother and he is so good with you. He is eager for you to walk, so he can teach you to play baseball, to run and play Candyland. The two of you already play together. He covers you with a blanket and you screech with glee as he plays Peek-A-Boo over and over. I think you will be lifelong friends, which makes my heart full.
I find myself watching you sleep and wondering what all you will accomplish in life, how you will change the world and what wonders you will bring to those who surround you. I am curious as to whether you will be more athletic like your father or lean toward the arts like me or a mix of both.
Regardless, I promise to encourage you to be who you were meant to be, to push you to try new things and to know that failing is part of life and only helps you succeed in the long run.
You’ve completed this family. For that I thank you.
May this year bring you mobility, the gift of language and discovering your surroundings.
All my love,
Mommy
Joyeux anniversaire Emerson! (And what a lovely birthday post from your mom!)
I was looking at your photos earlier today and thinking to myself how fast this year has gone, she couldn’t really be one year old already can she!
Happy first birthday E!
I do agree with all the concepts you’ve presented on your post.
They are really convincing and can definitely work.
Still, the posts are too brief for novices.
May you please lengthen them a bit from subsequent time?
Thanks for the post.
