My summer time TV obsession is the show So You Think You Can Dance. The hubby and I stumbled upon it a few summers ago during season 4. Joshua Allen won that season and I totally wanted to be his friend.
I took two years of dance when I was little but then we moved to North Carolina mid-year and I never got back into it. It makes me a little sad to think about it because I love to dance. Have you met me? Then you know this.
This show is the total jam. Every episode there is at least once dance number that totally astounds me or moves me to tears. Contemporary and Hip Hop are my favorite genres, but I love all of them (well, maybe not the Quick Step.)
This is my most favorite group performance EVER. It’s choreographed by Wade Robson.
I also have a major love for Mia Michaels. She is simply a genius choreographer. Her best piece, in my humble opinion, is her ADDICTION piece (which won an Emmy!)
And while Mia typically does contemporary pieces that are either flat out beautiful or completely transforming, she also likes to have fun. Have you seen the dance henceforth known as the “butt” dance?

If you have a love of dance and have not seen the show, you are missing out. I’ve become a fan of styles I never dreamed would interest me…like the Paso Doble. And I’m eager for the day that my kids, especially my daughter, take dance classes. Right now, every time music is on, they both break it down. It’s awesome to watch.
This season ends on Tuesday. I’m not sure who’s going to win as all four of them are stand-outs in their own right, but I’m voting for Eliana and Chehon. Who gets your vote?
I agree that at least one number moves me, but since the Olympics ended, moving numbers have been growing exponentially. I like this show so much better than Dancing with the Stars, but they get better ratings because they’re “so-called” stars. This wasn’t my absolute favorite episode, but have you seen the finale? One of my Dish coworkers is a big fan and she’s going to come over and watch the results with me and my wife. We’re all hoping Chehon and Eliana win, but it could be Cyrus and either of the other two women. We always watch commercial free with Auto Hop on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings because it saves us enough time to watch another show too. I like that I enjoy more TV now and get more for my money.
