Do you live in the Raleigh/Durham area and are looking for something fun to do with your family one hot summer night? Then head on down to Carousel Farms off of Louisberg Road in Raleigh. It’s an awesome, family-friendly rodeo show every Tuesday night at 7:30pm through the summer. Gates open at 6pm and there is lots of yummy BBQ for dinner and Lumpy’s ice cream for dessert (that’s my favorite part!)
Admission is $7 and kids under 6 are free. There are pony rides, mechanical bull rides, facepainting (all of which cost a little extra) plus the bull riding, barrel racing and of course, the chicken dance for the kids at the end of the show.
We hit it up last night with my ScanChild crew. The hubby and I paid $5 for the Bug to ride his first pony…for a whopping 45 seconds. But it was totally worth it.
Then, my CEO and I rode the mechanical bull. Huge feat for me as I’ve secretly always wanted to but been a smidge too chicken. Mission accomplished.

That mechanical bull is creepy looking?! I like how you can hear one of the guys moan in the beginning! LOL
Looks like fun! Here in Norco CA we have our fair coming up with tons of rodeo stuff! I can't wait – not brave enough to get on the mechanical bull though!

Looks like fun! The bullride is hilarious! I've never done that so maybe one day I'll be brave enough! I love how you went "wooo" at the end, as in WTH did I just do!?

That farm is literally right down the street from me and I've always wanted to go. I keep waiting for the perfect weather so I can wear my jeans and cowboy hat. Soon…
