What do you do on rainy days?

August 20, 2012 By Erin L. 3 Comments

Rainy days mean we typically get out of the house.  The mall.  YMCA. Playdate.  Indoor playground.  Museum.  Just somewhere we can be active and not dwell on the blahness of the day.

But the little miss has a cold – a sneezing every five minutes, I’ve wiped her nose 49 million times this morning already – kind of cold.  So we’re not going anywhere so we don’t spread our nasty germs.

I’m sort of at a loss for what to do today.  The Miss is dropping her morning naps and doesn’t seem interested today.  We’ve already made “bars” and it didn’t take nearly as much time as I remembered it.

I’ve played cars so many times over the past month that I just don’t have one more game in me today.  (Sorry sweetheart!)  And E is at such a funny age (17 months) that she doesn’t really play by herself but can’t play with her brother for longer than five/ten minutes either.

I wish we had a box.

Hmmm.  Forts?  Make a game out of organizing all our toys so I can attempt to clean to?  (That’s wishful thinking right?)

I’m sure we’ll color and cut paper later, but again that lasts minutes.

Movie?

What do y’all do on rainy days?

We go to discovery place kids, play with play-doh, bake cookies, or snuggle up and watch a movie.

Movies, popcorn, blankets and the couch. It’s our very favorite way to spend a dreary day and it’s a great excuse for down time for you!

Watch a lot of TV! I need to have an arsenal of movies they haven’t watched so I can surprise them with something new!

My little girl will be 18 months on 9/1…maybe your little Miss and mine can have a playdate?
