Oh my heavens. If I going to find a new hobby, you would think I could find one that isn’t expensive. But alas…
I am obsessing over photography!
Not in the “I want to become a professional photographer” kind of way, but in the “oooh, I want to take beautiful pictures of my kids and nature” kind of way.
This past weekend I had the good fortune to take a Mama-razzi workshop with two local photographers- Danielle Johnson and Corey Williams. It was an amazing afternoon filled with child models, good food and lots of information. I now know about ISO, aperture and shutter speed.
When Miss E. was born, we bought a Canon Rebel with the total intention of taking amazing pictures of our little miracle. Of course, I’ve been taking picture on AUTO this entire time, so while I’ve scored a few captivating image out of pure luck, I now know that I was totally missing out on the capabilities of my camera. Tomorrow I am going out to buy a new Prime lens and my savings is going toward a Macro lens that zooms.
So if you see me out and about, I will now likely have my camera with me like a third arm. I just need to figure out the editing tools to complete the magic.
I can dabble in Picasa to get rid of baby snoozle or eye crusties, but other than that…I’m at a loss.
What affordable, easy to learn photo editing software do you recommend?
