I’m trying to get more comfortable with myself in front of the camera AND practice doing things in one take (with little editing), so I joined up with a group of other bloggers to do a weekly vlog post.
Today we’re talking first jobs.

I wouldn’t let a 12 year old watch my daughter, but I think I was 12 too when I started. I’ve often thought of calling some of those parents and asking them what they were thinking. haa haa
Isn’t it crazy? I can’t imagine having a middle schooler watch my kids… but we all did it for work back then!
I did a lot of babysitting when I was young too. I loved it and now remember not getting paid to do it. Maybe that’s why I didn’t consider it a “real job” even though it is! LOL
Oh I got paid for sure, but I’m sure it was around $4 or $5 an hour. I think in high school I made $6 an hour watching kids after school.
I started babysitting around 12 years old too! How crazy. I don’t even let my 12 year old stay home alone and take care of themselves. Never mind another person!
I babysat my 5yo brother AND the neighbor’s kids when I was 12– they must have been 4 and 2– I would take them to the playground, 3 blocks away! OMG can you imagine that happening now?
I did a LOT of babysitting when I was a kid too. I also started really young. I think I would trust a 12 year old w/my kids if I knew him/her pretty well. But a stranger? NO WAY!
Ha! I can’t believe I was trusted with peoples children when I was SO young too. Isn’t it amazing how times change.
I also did a lot of babysitting, but I’m not sure I was really very good at it.
I totally watched kids when I was that young too! And yeah….I cannot leave my kids with anyone younger than 16 and she (yes SHE, teen boys? no thanks) has to be CPR certified. OMG I’m totally overprotective aren’t I? LOL!
