Last week I got a bushel full of apples from our produce home delivery service. My mind glazed over as I thought of baked apples, apple crisp and apple pie.
But the first thing I decided to make was homemade applesauce. My kids go through GoGo Squeez faster than I can buy it, so I figured it was well worth my effort to make my own.
And it was SO easy!
There are probably a gazillon different ways you can make this, but here’s what I did:
Gather together 10-15 apples, cinnamon and vanilla.
Peel said apples (I left some of the skin on – yay fiber!)
Put apples into a steamer (or you can boil if you don’t have steamer)
Put steamed apples into a food processor or blender (I used my Ninja.)
Pour in 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla.
Blend until smooth.
Eat and enjoy!
Note to self: if I expect my daughter to eat it, I need to peel off all the skin. That little stinker wouldn’t give it a second glance.
