Prepping for preschool – my baby is going to school

September 6, 2011 By Erin L.

Today is a big day.  It’s Meet the Teacher at Bug’s new preschool.

Backpack, ready for school

I am totally excited as I think he needs a little outside activity that does not involve mommy.  Sure, he loves me to pieces, but a little social activity with 9 other kids is just up his alley (and mine.)

I was nervous about pulling him out of daycare this summer when I started working part-time.  But he did great.  We had a little adjustment period (totally normal) but all in all, this summer was a blast.  He loved his two babysitters and was very happy having me home more often.

I’ve been telling him for a week now all about his new school, but I’m pretty sure he thinks we’re going right back to Miss Christy’s classroom. I say “Bug, we’re going to your new school” and he says “NOOOOO, we go to my OL’ skool.”  Hopefully, when he sees two kids he already knows and a bunch of new toys and circle activities, he’ll be perfectly content.  I hope so anyway.  I don’t want him to be nervous or sad.

Besides, it’s only two days a week.

Frankly, after going to daycare 40 hours a week for his entire life, six hours a week seems kind of chinsy.  By the time I drop him off, I’ll barely have time to do some laundry, play with little miss or check my email.  But it’ll do for this year.  And it’ll allow us to get into the groove of mommy being home full-time.

I’ll just have to get really creative at finding other activities around town…especially with winter being closer than we think.

Storytime at the library anyone?

Preschool. It was such a joyous time in our lives. Peanut loved it and he was so happy to march off with his backpack everyday. So happy to see Bug ready to face the day!

Bug looks adorable and that backpack is awesome. I need labels for everything Eli takes to preschool, too. There’s another Eli in his class so I always need to make sure things are labeled correctly with his first and last name to make sure he makes it home with all of his things. Loving your new design, it’s fabulous Erin!!!

I pretty much need labels for everything! With number three on the way, I might need to even start labeling my own stuff 🙂 Kidding (maybe), but I would love to be able to label HC’s jackets, shoes, bags, etc. since she’s now in Pre-K and involved in all sorts of different activities.

I could use these for SO many things! My 5 year old just started kindergarten, so it would defiantly benefit me (and his teacher) if all of his stuff was labeled. Also, i am pregnant and due Dec 17th, So it would be great to “tag” the baby’s stuff! I am a stay at home mom, so my children dont go to daycare, but it would nice to be able to his name on Bottles, diaper bags, passies, etc for church and such!
thanks for offering a GREAT giveaway!
