First Grade Jitters

And he’s off…

First Day First Grade

I was worried he’d have a bit of nerves but it seems it was all me. I had to walk him in since we missed “Meet the Teacher” last week and he was ahead of me the whole time. Once I helped him find his cubby, he didn’t look back. I had to walk over to his desk to get a hug good-bye.

I’m excited to see what this year has in store for him. Over the summer, he’s grown so much, both physically and intellectually. He asks so many questions. While in DC, he wanted to see where the President lives so we drove by the White House. When at the Udar-Hazy Air & Space Museum, he listened intently while we read off the displays about missiles, airplanes and helicopters. He asked to watched the final launch of the Discover Space Shuttle a second time. He just takes it all in, like a sponge.

When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he still wants to play basketball in the NBA. But he has a back-up plan. “Whatever Daddy does.”
