I remember a snow storm way over a decade ago. I had just received the DVDs for Seasons 1-3 of Alias and I was stoked. The hubby (then boyfriend) and I sat on my couch and didn’t move for hours days. It was awesome.
Of course, then we had to wait another YEAR for Season 4 to come out on DVD. A year! Do you remember those days? How did we survive?
Now we just grab any sort of media device we own and POOF a bazillion shows are at our fingertips. Back in the day we had to literally – GASP! – wait a week in between shows. That took real dedication and patience .
The husband and I are currently watching Breaking Bad. We just started Season 3. Every evening we put the kids down, look at each other and say “Time for a show?” It’s possible we might not have a life until late March when we finish it. Then we’ll get a break.
Or not. House of Cards Season 3 comes out next weekend and I, for one, can’t wait to see how Frank Underwood runs the Oval Office.
We cut the cord on cable just over a year ago and we’ve never looked back. I don’t mind watching shows months/years after everyone else. If I can watch the entire series in a few months, it’s totally worth it. And now that Netflix is creating it’s own productions, it’s even better.
