Getting back into a routine (#HealthyEssentials + $40 in coupons)

September 1, 2014 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

Routine! Can you hear me singing with the angels?

This week it’s about get…normal. Now don’t get me wrong, I love summer. We had a great time, went on a few trips, enjoyed time together as a family and swam a lot.

But it’s time to get back to it. This week BOTH kids will be back in school. It’s A’s first full week of kindergarten and Miss E. is on a modified schedule at preschool. Mama might actually get some work done in a regularly scheduled fashion. No 15 minutes on the computer here, 30 minutes writing notes here, 5 minutes pinning here.oo

All hail a routine.

For me, a routine comes with flexibility. On Mondays, I’ll drop off both kids then head to the YMCA. I can work for an hour in the lobby and then hit up Zumba. On Tuesdays, I head straight to Starbucks after drop-off. Wednesdays I’ll hit up the Y and then head home to work and have a weekly conference call. Thursdays will be similar to Mondays unless I’m on a deadline.

This also requires us all to be eating and sleeping regularly. We’re working on maintaining an 8pm lights out policy for the kids. I’m aiming to be in bed at 10. It’s a little challenging for a night owl like me, but I’m going to try.
