Tomorrow morning I head to Louisville, KY for the All Baby and Child Expo, a show that I spent six years of my life planning for much of the year. I used to plan a booth of 50×50 magnitude, make media appointments and gear up for the biggest sales season for the industry.
This year, it’s different. I’m going back for the first time in two years and I’m going as me. I’m not there as a company representative per se (though I will be writing articles and gathering information for BabyCenter.) I’ll be on the other side of the table, actually walking the show and talking to all the brands that are there.
Why am I going?
Well, number one, I adore the juvenile product industry. After working in it for six years, I find it hard to let go. And when I do go back to work full-time in a few years, I hope to go right back into it. So I really need to keep my toe in the water.
Second, I want to share with all of you the amazing, awesome products that are new to the market. You know, the ones that make you want to have another baby? I’ll be taking pictures, interviewing designers and making some video so be sure to check back here and on BabyCenter next week.
And finally, I’d love to score some work. 2013 is looming and I need to be thinking ahead. With the kids in preschool two/three mornings a week, I’m looking for some fun and fabulous projects. Keep your fingers crossed!
Y’all have a great weekend and I’ll see ya next week.
