We got a bike with training wheels for A over the summer. We haven’t mastered it yet, but his sister quickly realized that she wanted a bike too. She’s pretty short so there aren’t many bikes or trikes where she can reach the pedals.
Then we had the opportunity to check out the Little Tikes 3 in 1 Trike. It’s one of those bikes that grows with your child, allowing for guided, learning and independent riding. The seat adjusts to several positions allowing their feet to touch the pedals at all stages o growth.
Miss E loves her purple bike and not just because it’s her favorite color. We are still in the guided stage, but she loves to ride alongside her brother when we go on family walks. Sometimes he even helps push her.
Once it warms up a bit in the spring, I think we’ll be ready to take the off the protective safety bar. Then it will be time to find a cute bike helmet!
Set Up
Assembly required. To be honest, it looked a little daunting at first, but my husband had it together in no time. I’d guess it took him about 20-30 minutes.
Recommended Age
Little Tikes recommends this product up to 3 years of age. Miss E is 2.5 and she still can’t push the pedals. She just lets her feet fall wherever. By this summer, we’ll probably have to adjust the bike seat, but I think she’ll be riding it for at least another year. If you have a taller child, you’ll probably grow out of it faster.
