Welcome to a week in my life! For the next few days, I’m going to be sharing the nitty gritty, the fun, the mundane and everything in between.
My Monday started at 4 a.m. with Bug crawling into my bed. About 30 minutes later, it was apparent that he wasn’t sleeping so back up to his room we went, with me finally crawling back into MY bed at 5:30. Too bad, hubby’s alarm went off 15 minutes later and my phone rang ONE TIME at 6:15. Boo Hiss!

I heard the baby a little around 7:00 and finally rolled out of bed. She was ALL about some daddy this morning and pretty much would have nothing to do with me until after he left. Funniest part of the morning was when Miss E tried to wipe off my toe nail polish with her lovey. She was so confused when it wouldn’t come off.
We had a nice morning and then went to a neighbors for a play date. Six almost four year old, four toddlers and a baby made for an awesome, if somewhat chaotic and loud morning and lunch. We took all the kids down to our neighborhood park and let them get out all their energy. Miss E LOVES the slide and is absolutely going to be my wild child. She is always testing her limits.
When we got home, she went straight down for her nap and Bug and I settled in to watch Madagascar. I probably could have fallen asleep but Bug wouldn’t allow that to happen. When E woke up, she was a total crank pot, as usual. I don’t know what her deal is with waking from nap an utter monster.
The afternoon was full of lots of leaves and outside play. When Daddy got home, I finished up dinner (a pork roast that TOOK FOREVER to cook!) and the kids played in the leaf pile.
Dinner was a ruckus, but really, what’s new? We went back outside after dinner to watch a neighbor’s tree get cut down and then we came back in for bath. For some reason, Miss E started bawling and didn’t stop. She cried through bath. She cried when I took her back outside to rock on the back porch. The poor little cried until she fell asleep on my shoulder. It was so sad. I hate not knowing what’s wrong.
After that? I needed wine.
Then it was back upstairs for songs with Bug. And what a sweet moment it was. He was SO tired, but as my husband was leaving the room, he said “Daddy, want to have a family snuggle party?” Who’s going to say no to that?
Goal for tomorrow – more pictures and actual pictures with me in them.

Ugh, mornings that start like that are the worst. I do however love the title of the post and am now singing a little bonus Belinda Carlisle in my head right now. I wish our leaves were on the ground, my guy would love to help rake and jump in them. The ones on our street are always the last to go though, near Thanksgiving. How exciting for your kids to watch the tree get cut down. Gotta love free entertainment like that. Can’t wait to see more tomorrow.
OMGosh, I had no idea Mel did this! I did this a few years ago and LOVED doing this! Crap! Wish I would’ve known about it sooner, so I could partake with you!
Awwww the picture of your babies hugging your hubby is just too precious. And wine! That’s what I am missing in my nightly round up.
