My entire life, I have always had a real Christmas tree. I know that every family is different and each has its own traditions. Luckily, when I married my husband, he was on board with the real tree too.
Our living room area has super high ceilings, so we always get a huge tree. We’re talking at least 7 feet. But those come with a hefty price tag each December.
This year, the hubby brought up the idea of a fake tree.
At first, I gasped at the utter horror. But then I sort of came to terms with it, but pushed him on his reasons anyway. I figured it was money. It was.
Then we had questions. How long do you keep a fake tree? Some of them cost upwards of $200. I also have no concept of how long they last, but want one that would be around for at least five or six years.
We haven’t made a final decision. I start my decorating next weekend, but we don’t typically get the tree until the second week in December.
What does your family do if you celebrate Christmas? Real or fake? What do you love about it?

Pre-lit fake here. I’m not sure how long the pre-lit ones last but the regular fake trees can last a really long time.
