Word(less) Wednesday: Food Banks Do Amazing Work

July 18, 2012 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

I spent yesterday with some amazing folks from the ConAgra Foods Foundation touring the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.  The hunger problem here is so much larger than I had imagined; I feel like I’ve been living in a bubble. I’m decompressing from all I learned and encountered and will be sharing soon. For now, here are some amazing photos of the fantastic work that is happening right here in Raleigh.

Beautiful peaches from the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle - they distribute lots of produce!
The Food Shuttle serves hot lunches to 300 kids over the summer through Parks and Rec programs.
This sweet face is why the #hungerfreesummer campaign matters
These trucks do a lot of good in North Carolina.
Mt Olive Pickles
Mt Olive Pickles are always in high supply at the Food Bank. They even get traded to other food banks.
