So Over Baby Food

January 20, 2012 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

D.O.N.E.

Baby in highchairI am done with baby food — the purees to be specific. I don’t know why I am so eager to be over this stage but I am.

Miss E. is almost ten months (ACK, almost a YEAR!) and we’ve just embarked on the next journey with food – tiny pieces of cheese, bread, peas, cut up noodles. She only has four teeth (all on the bottom), so I have to be careful to make sure she can actually mash it all up in her teeny little mouth.

We still eat puffs and Cheerios and have just started Baby MumMums. The little Miss even had pizza the other night.

I am ready for her to be able to eat PEOPLE food….because our life is hectic and lately I’ve found myself saying “OH CRAP, we don’t have any baby food!” way too many times and wondering how fast I can steam and puree an apple or sweet potato (if we even have any.)

Luckily applesauce is a staple in our house.

Believe me, I am grateful for company’s like Earth’s Best, Plum Organics, and Happy Baby. They have made life so easy with their yummy blends of fruits and veggies. But it’s time to say good-bye and time for me to get on the ball and figure out ways to use our Babycook to mix up spaghetti, couscous and other things that the family is eating.

My baby girl is growing up.  And for this stage and this stage only, mama is ready.
