Snapper Rock Swim Wear for Kids: A Review

May 20, 2013 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

Snapper RockPreschool ends next week, which for most families means that SUMMER is here. Time for playing outside and more importantly, the pool or beach.

As you all know if you’ve read my last few posts, we spent last week in Florida. My kids were stoked to be able to spend some of that time in a few fabulous pools. We packed our new Snapper Rock swimsuits, which I was sent to review, a few bottles of sunscreen, a couple towels and we were set.

I was excited for our new suits for a few reasons. One – they are incredibly cute and fashionable. I had a hard time deciding which ones to pick out. Snapper Rock offers a large selection of options from long-sleeve sun suits, rash guards, one piece suits, two piece suits and board shorts. They even have a selection of hats and kaftans.

The swim suits for my children were a perfect fit, and both kids were incredibly comfortable running around the pool for a few hours.

Two – all Snapper Rock swimwear has a UPF (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) rating of 50+, blocking 98% of all harmful rays. It’s nice to know that the parts of the body not covered in sunscreen are still protected from the sun.

The swim suits are a little pricey – ranging from $40 to $60+, but for the quality that you’re getting, I think it’s worth it if you plan on spending a lot of time in a pool or on the beach.

Snapper Rock got it’s start making product for the juvenile sailing market, but the company quickly grew to include sun protection products for children 0-12. Designed in New Zealand, where the ozone layer is very thin, Snapper Rock uses the latest fabric technology, colors and designs. You can find them at retailers across the United States, including Amazon and Right Start.

Disclosure: I was sent two swim suits for the purpose of this review.  All opinions are my own.
