Proud mama moment

February 1, 2013 By Erin L. 2 Comments

In the beginning of November, he didn’t even want to get in the water.  A few lessons later, he’d put his mouth in the water to blow bubbles, but still wouldn’t put his whole face in.

We started a new session a few weeks ago. I was worried he’d revert back to square one, but he didn’t. He was eager to get into the water, but still held on tight to the instructor.

Last night, my heart burst into a million pieces.  The smile on my face lasted for hours and I could just feel the pride emanating from my pores.

He swam the length of the pool with his floatie on.  He was so excited and proud of himself.  Even in the midst of a coughing fit, he shook his head when offered assistance.

He knew he could do it.

Self-confidence at it’s best.

And the blue ribbon he received at the end of class didn’t hurt either.

Want to see him?  I took a little video with the new Vine app.
