We’ve been in our house almost ten years. It sort of baffles my mind that it’s been that long. When we moved in, I was SO happy. Our house was beautiful, open and had so much potential.
I still love our house, but after ten years there are changes I want to make. I want to paint, put in hardwoods, get a new shower, new kitchen cabinets…the list goes on. There’s a lot to do.
We’ve been talking about doing some of these project for YEARS. But then life happens. Now I’m ready. I’m DETERMINED to make some of these projects start and finish.
But that means decisions have to be made. It means Jason and I actually have to agree on things and that’s proving to be more challenging than I thought. For instance, we want to paint the guest bath and get a new vanity, mirror and fixtures. I wanted grey but because there is no natural light in there, everything looks purple. So I picked some other options but Jason didn’t like them. I picked a few more and he didn’t like those either.
Finally he said JUST PAINT IT. But of course, it’s not that easy. The people before us painted stripes and they need sanding, then priming…and did I mention I hate painting?
So now I’m looking for someone to do it for me. Is that lazy? Maybe a little. But if we hire someone, we might just get it done.
Now’s the time where I sure am wishing we won that Powerball! Money fairy anyone?
Hire the painter and don’t look back. I am NEVER satisfied with our results when we do it ourselves. And like you said it takes forever PLUS, painting is pretty low cost when it comes to outsourcing. Go forth and be guilt-free!
I agree, painting can be stressful, best of luck!
