If you’re a regular reader, you know that a few months ago I decided to take back me. I needed to be healthier, work out more, and take some time for myself.
How have I been doing?
Well…let’s just say it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. Drinking 64 oz of water daily is really difficult and up until about a week or so ago, I haven’t been awesome about the gym. I was sick a few times and well, yes I have all sorts of excuses.
I have been able to spend some time with friends here and there. Small victory! And I revamped my skin regiment but I’m not convinced that what I’m doing is working for me (but that’s another post).
I didn’t expect it to be easy, but I thought it would be a little easier than it has been. So…I’ve decided to join up with a few other women in an online challenge, at least for the health part of taking back me. We are tracking our steps, activity and meals. I’ve found that I need to be held accountable. It doesn’t matter if I have the drive. When it’s just me, I can easily talk myself out of it. But now that I have a group of women I need to check in with…well, I’m already doing better. (Follow our progress at #fitpowerclub!)
My goal isn’t necessarily to lose weight. I want to tone up and get rid of the belly fat. At some point, I really need to cut back on the sugar, but we’ll cross that bridge later. I am heading to California this week with the family for the Disney Social Media Moms Conference and I plan to enjoy myself.
In February, my stats were:
Waist:35 (I don’t think I measured at the right part of my body!)
Today my stats are:
Waist: 33 3/4
Hips: 36 1/4
I don’t know if I even measured correctly because I don’t feel a lot different but I’ll take those lost inches and run with it. I just need to remember to measure in the same spot next month.
