Hey Triangle Area Residents!
Have a child heading into Kindergarten soon? Then you’ll want to check out the new Ready, Set, School Exhibit that just opened today in the Around Town area at Marbles in downtown Raleigh.
The Ready, Set, School exhibit introduces young children to the exciting experience of kindergarten, inviting them to pretend to be a teacher, explore the school day and discover fun ways to learn, grow and make new friends. Ready, Set, School was made possible in part by the Institute for Museum and Library Services.
The exhibit allows kids to play with things like a light table, a sensory table, blocks, letter magnets and pattern blocks. There’s even a book area with books about kindergarten and exploring their feelings and emotions.
Marbles also holds a Kick-Off to Kindergarten session in the summer for rising kindergartners as well. Rising kindergartners celebrate starting school with purposeful play like practicing a lunch line, moving and grooving at recess, hopping on a school bus and exploring circle time. Experts in nutrition, education, healthy living and more are on hand to answer questions for parents and lead age-appropriate activities for the soon-to-be kindergartners.
I’m super excited to check out the new exhibit at Marbles. We haven’t been in awhile and with Mr. A starting Kindergarten in less than a year, it’s the perfect time for us to go.
