Tuesday is the day I get to actually get some work done. The kids are at school from 9:15 to 1:15, so this is my time to write, clean the house, plan meals etc. Today I started going through the piles of paper I collected at the ABC Kids Show in Vegas. I sent follow-up emails, drafted my holiday gift guide outline (coming soon!) and brainstormed upcoming posts both for this site and BabyCenter.
I then picked up the kids, who had a bit of fun with the new lampshade, and we headed home for lunch and nap.
It was SO much fun! I had been worried because it was sprinkling the entire ride to the fair ground, but the rain just stopped once we parked. Whew.
I had to laugh as the first ride we went on (all three of us!) was the helicopter, which of course was 9 tickets (=dollars). That’s a lot of money for a 60 second ride that doesn’t come with a free drink or anything. But c’est la vie. That’s what the fair is for.
Y’all wouldn’t believe what a big boy Mr. A was. He rode his very first ride all by himself, went down the big slide and even popped some balloons to win an Angry Bird Piggy. He even went into one of those obstacle course fun houses. When did he get so grown up?
I had been a bit worried about Miss E but I needn’t have been. She thoroughly enjoyed herself, especially after she won her “inamint” (instrument). I’m going to pretend that all those nasty germs on it just vanished the second she stuck that thing in her mouth. Just as the W was forming for me to say WAIT, it was all over. Ah well.
We ate lots of yummy food – hot dogs, corn on the cob (A’s favorite!), ice cream, elephant ears, gyros and more – and enjoyed spending time with my mom and sister.
When we got home (at 10!) A through his arms around my neck and proclaimed it the BEST. DAY. EVER. I can’t lie; my eyes welled up. What a wonderful end to a wonderful day.
