I don’t even know where to begin. I remember when we put you together. We were so excited to be putting the final touches on the WonderBug’s nursery. The room was almost finished and you? You were the pièce de résisance.
We brought him home and for a few months, you were just for show. People would stop by and ask to see the nursery and there you sat, empty and beautiful, waiting for someone to love.
Then he was yours. He was yours for two whole years. You kept him safe. You kept him warm.
For a small amount of time, you went away. Waiting. Hoping.
Then there you were. Ready. With open arms for my sweet girl.
Again, you kept her safe and warm.
You absorbed many tears (among other things). You took several beatings. But you never faltered. My children were loved and cared for.
It’s the end of an era in our home. The time has come for you to go away, for good this time, at least in our house. It is my sincere hope that another baby will come along in the future, a niece or a nephew, that might benefit from your services.
Until then, know that you were appreciated. And don’t worry. She’s going to be a-ok.
