2012 was my year without fear. I think I did okay at it. As always, I could have done better, but isn’t that just the way life goes? We can always do better.
For 2013, I’ve chosen “Push” as my word for the year. I want to push myself in a variety of ways.
Push past boundaries.
Push past discomfort, both in work and the gym.
Push to be present – in work and home life. I need to be in the moment I’ve chosen to be in and not try to multi-task and do as much as I can in any given moment. This is my toughest challenge for sure.
Push to spend more time with friends.
Push to have date nights with my husband.
Push to be better, in general.
In reflecting on the year past, I realized that I often settle into the comfortable. I think we all do really and in that, I thought push was a fabulous word. The hubby and I spend time together…mostly on our couch….at the end of the day, watching tv or just chatting. But this year, I want us to get out and about, do some of the things we love to do together and maybe (GASP!) actually take a trip together ALONE. We’ll see what happens.
I’m working on my actual goals for the year too. I don’t believe in resolutions, but I think having goals and reevaluating past goals is a good thing to do. New year, fresh view on life.
Here’s to a great 2013!

That’s a great word! My word this year is Build. I just started a new business and I’m consumed with it. When I get overwhelmed, I remember that it’s just a LEGO tower. It’s just building. Sometimes the pieces fit, sometimes they stick out a little.
