Get that annoying kid song out of my head

The other night I woke up at least five times and every time I did the “Abby’s Flying Fairy School” song was in my head.

Every. Single. Time.  I wasn’t dreaming about it. I’d wake up and it was just be there.

How to make us grow
and how to make us shrink
How to solve a problem with a single twinkle think
This school is really magic
It’s magic’s really cool
Let’s go in, let’s begin
It’s Flying Fairy School.

SHOOT ME. It was like I had some disease that was quickly invading my body. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a fan of Abby and Gonnigan, but this was getting old.

The next day I was much happier because my four year old son was running around singing “Girl On Fire” and I was okay with that. I’m down with some Alicia Keys. What I am not down with is singing Rescue Bots, roll to the rescue on the way to the grocery store or humming the Cat in the Hat song while I make my morning coffee.

I don’t mind so much when the Imagination Mover’s diddy is in my head. I’ll admit that I can kind of rock it out to that song. Hey, what’s the big idea?

But most of the others? They make me want to curl up in a corner and start rocking and sucking my thumb.

What songs are currently stuck in your head?

Oh, I feel for you. At least Abby’s is a little better than Elmo’s song. My kids enjoyed Blue’s Clues and Bob the Builder – both annoying ditties that penetrate the innermost part of the brain. This week the song in my head has been “Baby Kangaroo” by Joe McDermott. It’s on Spotify if you’d like to get it stuck in your head. 🙂

I don’t mind the Wonder Pets – it can get in my head and I don’t get driven crazy by it. But Elmo’s World? NOOOO!!!!

hahaha sorry I don’t mean to laugh but don’t you just love how it’s always the kids shows that get stuck in our head. One that always gets stuck in mine is the Octonauts song, creature report…creature report.

When a kid song is driving me nuts, I keep playing one of my favs over and over until that song is stuck in my head.
