Did we really get so lucky? No rain and not too terribly hot the night we decided to make S’mores? Woohoo! We put the baby to bed and turned on the grill. We were all ready for an oooey, gooey treat.
I am pretty sure that S’mores are one of the messiest things you can eat. At least they are when I eat them. However, in trying to capture the perfect messy face of my two year old eating the delightful treats, I found myself fighting with him to STOP USING HIS NAPKIN! It was pretty humorous.
He doesn’t like to be sticky, messy or “yucky!” So we kept the Wet Wipes on hand as we ate the utter deliciousness. I, on the other hand, have no issue with a little mess. And a mess I made…
I’d never made S’mores on the grill before but they ended up being quite perfect. Too bad the mosquitoes cut our outside treat short. But they didn’t stop us from having fun inside.
My little man was certainly excited about our new discovery. His final verdict? “Yummy in the Tummy!”
(Don’t believe me about Bug not getting messy? Check our quick video. Oh, and yes, I am highly embarrassed that I didn’t shut the door to my laundry room or pantry. Awesome.)
Is your stomach growling looking at our pics? Don’t you fret. Hershey’s is giving away a S’mores pack complete with Hershey bars, graham crackers and jumbo marshmallows for you and your whole family.

My favorite S'mores memory? Girl Scouts–on a camping trip with my mom. It was so awesome 🙂

My all time fav treat, from way back to Girl Scout days. Never tried them on the grill, good tip. And Hershey's Facebook page? Now I'm distracted, must go. Oh, BTW, as a child, I was just like your son, no sticky stuff on my hands, no thank you. Not my kids, though, ha.

Sitting around a fire pit with my mom, sisters and our kids on a summer evening! Perfection!

Fav s'more memory: sitting around the campfire with the family every Octoberfest (Fall Fam Reunion) telling your best stories…ghost, humorous or reflective. Combines things I love: ooey-gooey chocolate, marshmallow goodness and quality family time!

Lea is the SAME way about always using napkins! lol Lea had her first s'more on her first camping trip when we took our pop-up out for the first time. It was a great weekend of "firsts". 🙂

I love smores and I know Jude will love them… although he won't be nearly as neat as Bug. It cracked me up how much Jude's mess bothered him at dinner that one night.
Anyway, we will have to set up a smores night soon… i always loved family bonefires with smores. However, I could never find a good stick for roasting the marshmallows.

We have a new firepit and would love to make some S'mores this fall. I've never made them. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I have eaten one or two in my day.

We actually made our first Smores memory this summer. We took the girls camping for the first time (ages 4 and 6)… and at night the 4 year old would thank God for Smores.
We will never forget it!

I remember sitting around the campfire with a bunch of my friends from the dorms at college and enjoying smores all together. That was before all the drama began occurring and we all went our separate ways…miss those days!
