I’m trying to be realistic when thinking about my goals (ie. resolutions) for the year. Seeing as how I’ll be giving birth to my second child in March, I figure I’ll be playing most of 2011 by ear and figuring out how to be a mom to two kidlets.
However, I like to have something written down so I can be held accountable and try to do the things that will make my life better/happier etc.
1) Have a successful VBAC.
Ok, so maybe I don’t have a whole lot of control over this, but it is a huge goal of mine. Obviously I want my baby to be delivered by the safest means necessary for both me and her BUT if I have my way, my body will cooperate and I’ll be able to labor and deliver my baby girl.
2) Monthly Date Night
We’re going to try this again. I want to get a sitter and have an honest to goodness date with my husband once a month. Not a group date, not a party – but a night out ALONE with my husband.
3) Find a better balance of work and parenting.
Right now I work a lot…at least more than I want to when thinking about being at home with my family. I want to be able to find some sort of balance between being able to enjoy my two children/husband and working in a profession that I love as well. This is going to be a tough one.
4) Secure auditions for at least two local commercials/print opportunity/voiceover etc.
This goal will have to wait until the second half of the year, but I really want to take advantage of some of the opportunities that have been presented as being a part of the talent company I signed with in June. I’m going to set aside my nerves, PRACTICE and just get out there.
5) Girls Nights. Girls Weekends. Play Dates.
I want to see my friends more in 2011, so I need to get more creative and find ways to hang out with my friends. I miss them and I need them.
6) Write more.
I hope that I can post to this blog at least twice a week in 2011. I’m sure I’ll take a bit of a hiatus after the Squoosh is born, but I’d like to up my game this year. I hope you’ll stick with me.
That’s what I’ve got for now. Bring it on, 2011.
