Day 2 – Something I Love About Myself

November 2, 2010 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

Something I love about myself.

I’ll admit it.  This one was hard for me.
I feel awkward putting it out in public that I love something about me.  At the very forefront, I feel a little self-absorbed.  However, considering this is an “assignment” and we live in a world where people are much more down on themselves than positive, I’m going to run with it.

I think one of the things I love about myself is my ability to be goofy and not take myself so seriously.  In fact, I often wonder how my husband still tolerates me given all the weird, off-kilter, nerdy things I do at home for fun. (Actually, we’re probably a match made in heaven as 9 times out of 10 when I do something ridiculous and dorky, he does it right back.  God, I love that man!)

Life can be challenging, irritating and downright hard.  But we all need the ability to laugh at ourselves and just act 10 again if we want, and I love that I am able to do that.

Whether it means hiking up my pants past my belly button and walking around the house until someone notices or throwing water at my husband like an annoying pre-teen would do, I like to act like a goof and just enjoy life sometimes. I like to think I get it from my dad.  My mom always talks about the silly things they would do together and how they loved to have a good time.

Life’s all too short.  So be a goof…and love it like me!

Totally agree! We have a name for that look in our house. It's called "big pants" 😉
