Get Ready for the Weekend

March 19, 2010 By Erin L. Leave a Comment

It’s been one of THOSE weeks.  You know what I’m talking about – every day you are holding your breath, trying to remember which project you were working on and figuring out how to get  more hours in the day.

Oh yeah, that kind of week.

Work is good.  Work is busy.  Busy is good.
But it is wearing me out.  Thankfully, I’m headed for an overnight with some of my college friends for a baby shower and it is MUCH DESERVED and EXTREMELY NECESSARY.  I am looking forward to meeting Kelly’s new baby girl and seeing Katie’s big ol’ belly.  We’ll chat, laugh, drink (well some of us), coo over baby clothes, even a little gossip — it’s going to be fantastic.

Even with all the stress and anxiety, there have been some really awesome parts to my week.  Tuesday, our CEO and I went to the Smart Moms Solutions event hosted by BSM Media and Maria Bailey.  It was a fun opportunity for us to mix and mingle with some Raleigh moms and for Brenda (our CEO) to share some information about JPMA.  I even came home with a prize.  I won a Daily Portrait, a personalized commemorative print of the Bug’s birthday. After the event, I went out with some of the moms for sushi at local Cary establishment, Wasabi, and we started diving into planning the May 6, National Mom’s Nite Out for the RDU area.  Stay tuned for more exciting details!  We’ve got some smart women on that committee.

Then tonight, even though I just finished doing some more work (it’s 10:00 pm) – I was able to spend some real quality time with the Bug.  He was hilarious – laughing, screaming, running around the house after his bath, slapping his hands on his belly all while sweet baby drool was leaving a happy trail behind him.  I couldn’t stop smiling.  Those are the best moments to have.

Now if I can just make it through tomorrow.
