Today is my friend Martha’s birthday. Every year on this day I think of the two incredibly short years that we were friends. I think of her radiating smile. And I think of how heartbreaking it was that she left us so incredibly early.
I am lucky. I have amazing, beautiful, wonderful friends, who are there for me, who laugh with me, cry with me and generally make my life a better place simply by existing. I have a community of women who inspire me daily, who challenge me to be and do better and who create an aura of fun wherever they go. And I thank them.
This weekend, I met more fabulous women. After a rather unfortunate experience, I witnessed the kindness of strangers and believe I turned those strangers into friends. I thank them for their ears, their shoulders and their hugs. I am honored to have met them and welcome them into my community.
