What is it about a sick baby that makes us go all crazy and neurotic? Fevers happen. Colds happen. But somehow it makes me go all psycho and sick with worry.
Aidan got his first “official” fever this past weekend. He was so sad looking. His eyes were all watering and he couldn’t breathe. Even the suction thingy wasn’t helping. His temperatue wasn’t uber high, but still 101 for a wee one seems so HIGH. And I couldn’t bring myself to take it rectally. If it had been a lot higher or kept going, then I would have just sucked it up, but I didn’t want to traumatize the poor little guy (and me and his dad.)
He was fever free this morning and went back to daycare. Hopefully we are on the mend. Of course, what I thought was allegies are either turning into the worst allergies of ALL TIME or I have developed a heinous cold (AGAIN??) and/or sinus infection. I can’t win. WAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I know. Could I get cheese with that wine?
Poor little guy! I still get a little freaked out when my kids get sick!
The first fever is the worst! It is hard to not get upset because as a mommy all you want to do is fix things. I hope he is feeling better.

I feel your pain on the fever AND the sinus infection/cold. HC ran a 103-104 fever for a couple days last week and it sucked. Then I ended up with a rockin’ cold. I still get all retarded with worry when the kiddo is sick. Guess it’s just part of mommy-hood. Hope you all feel better soon!
