It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

It’s here! My most favorite time of the year.

I know the holiday season can be hectic and even stressful, but ignoring all that, the time from Thanksgiving to January 4 (my birthday!) is hands down the best part of the year for me.

There’s just something about the chill in the air, the food we eat, the time with family, the music…I have a warmth inside me that just isn’t there the rest of the year. Plus, we have my husband and son’s birthday to celebrate, so there’s a lot of cause for happiness.

Even my children feel it. In fact, last night, Miss E asked to play some Christmas tunes and I sat on the couch, watching her dance and sing. The joy in her face was almost too much for me. It seems hokey to say, but I could literally feel my heart expanding within my chest.

When it comes time for decorating, I’m of the camp that the day after Thanksgiving ALL the Christmas decorations go up. My husband grabs all the boxes from the garage and the small girl and I get to work. This year, with the help of At Home Store, I got started a bit early.

The first thing you see when you walk in our house is a small rod iron etagere and mirror. It usually has our wedding photo on it, along with a mixture of candles and photos of the kids. But during the holidays, I usually put a small tree and other tchocke holiday items. This year, I decided to go gold and get all new decor.
Before and After

My favorites are the white poinsettias and gold gift box, and the super cute sleigh that I filled with wood ornaments.

I also love a festive holiday entrance. We were in need a new wreath and I snagged a cute door mat, as well. Now all I need is two red poinsettias to go on either side of the door for the finishing touch.

And I couldn’t resist this adorable wooden reindeer sign! It fits perfectly between our coat closet and guest bathroom.

If you’re in the market for new holiday decor, At Home Stores is the perfect place to visit. If you don’t have any sort of vision, it can be overwhelming, but they have lots of pretty displays to give you ideas. Just plan to spend awhile!

Now that the house decorations have started, I’m itching to finish the rest of the house. I told my husband I may even go back to At Home for a new artificial tree to go next to our “new to us” piano that was delivered last week. The ideas are flowing.

I can’t wait to turn on some holiday music, light a fire and just sit and enjoy my decorated house. Tis the Season, my friends. I hope you have a great one.

I love decorating for all the holidays! The new decor looks great. I love the before and after pics.

My biggest issue is where to put the stuff I’m replacing until it’s time to go back to its usual spot. Do you store your everyday stuff someplace special?
