What is your body saying right now?
I am pretty sure mine is screaming at me TO MOVE. It might also be a smidge mad at me for all the M&Ms I ate over the holidays. I’m not a lump by any stretch, I mean, I have two small children. Sitting around just doesn’t happen. But I don’t have a regular routine.
My exercise is inconsistent at best. We joined the YMCA almost two years ago and I got into Zumba. I love it but I go in phases. Right now I’m in a major work-out rut, so it’s time to get back to it.
Yesterday, I hit the treadmill and ran 2 miles and then biked a bit. Zumba is on Monday and Thursday mornings and I’m hoping to get an occasional Tuesday evening session in depending on how the kid’s day goes. I’m also hoping to get back into yoga and try a barre class (ballet inspired!).
It’s my hope that exercise and a few diet changes will alter the muffin top that is hanging around and causing my jeans to fit rather uncomfortably. I’d like to feel good in a bathing suit come summertime.
MY CURRENT STATS
Bust:36 1/4
Waist:35
Hips:37
My plan is to check back in at the beginning of March and then again at the beginning of April to see if I can make the waist and hip numbers move a bit lower. I have a ring of fat around my waist that I blame on two c-sections, but I know better. Yes, some of the fat is super stubborn and has been there forever, BUT I can control what food goes in my body and how much I move and that is a major contributor.
Let’s be real for a second
I’m not entering a contest for world’s fittest woman. I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. I want to look in the mirror and not cringe. A lot of my issues are in my head.
But I love chocolate cake and I’m a big fan of wine. I don’t plan on giving those up. They make me happy and that’s what this #takebackME journey is all about. I want to take care of myself, be good to my body and enjoy this beautiful life I was given.

I think I’m doing pretty well on this one although I need to exercise more. It’s easier in the summer.

Definitely something I’m determined to do this year is to take better care of myself. It started with joining the Simple Start program and I’ve got to step it up in the exercise department. But like you, I enjoy my chocolate cake too.:) Sounds like you’ve got a good plan going.

This is exactly one of the reasons that I started the #everydaywellness challenge for the month. My thinking was that by being intentional about all the aspects of wellness that would help me in the long run.
