My Biggest Fear {a vlogmom prompt}

by Erin L. on September 13, 2012

So I’m putting myself out there a bit this week and talking about my biggest fears. It’s a long video so no worries if you don’t feel like watching it, but I’m working on being uncomfortable.

Besides, sometimes acknowledging your fears helps you get through them. I’m doing my best. Writing this post a few years ago helped and talking about it today did too.

Thanks for being so authentic and candid at the end of your video on your fears. That must have been hard to share. One of my biggest mottos in life is do you want to live in fear or do you want to live in trust. Your fear is clearly spurred by such a big event in your life, and you cannot run away from that, nor should you. But if you can continue to look around you and appreciate the amazing things in your life (and you have many!) and trust that you are meant to always be surrounded by that and more… it’ll help you look past your fears and move forward to live more fully. Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks so much for such a thoughtful comment. I definitely look around me and take in all that has blessed me. I think fears are things we work on and through daily. I know I do…and will continue to. Thanks for watching!

Wow, you are so brave to open up and tell us all of this. I chickened out and didn’t even make a video on this topic.

I don’t want to die before my children are grown, but I have taught myself to look at parenting as just a springboard for the rest of their lives. I’m raising them to leave, and doing what I can to prepare them to be a great adult.

That had to be hard to lose your father at such a young age. Sending hugs.

Thanks lady! I think you are right. We are all raising future adults (to quote my former CEO) and I’m just going to keep doing the best that I can.

Oh, Erin, never apologize for being honest. And for sharing. Your readers, and those of us who are your friends, very much appreciate it. It is a valid fear. We work through it and treasure, really, treasure our time with our favorite people.
